Finally with the submission of the one tender, and another kind of screwed up. I was late for the submission. Pretty late by an hour. It was damnest ever happened to me. My principal screw things up. I had the pricing 40 minutes before the deadline. Just imagine if I can complete everything within 5 min? Plug the pricing, print, burned copies of CD and pack? Come on…. it is pretty much look like a setup.

Let the bygone be bygone. The customer was displeased with the late submission and hence was requested to submit in the letter explaining the reason for the late submission. Have to tell the truth then. What to do? If I were disqualified because of the late issue, then my midnight oil being burnt is totally gone. Wasted for nothing in the end. Two nights staying very late in office just because of these two tenders.

After the submissions, I had many other things to follow up. Looking at the list now, again it gives me the chill. Another round of stressful week ahead. Probably two weeks. With the amount of tasks, I do not think it is pretty straight forward. Too many follow ups and too many minor details thing needed to be completed.

Unable to think very far right now. Too many clouded my mind. Still, today is 31 and there is hefty discount from Baskin Robbins. If only…

And it took me five months to finish the book - “Barbarians at the Gate: The Fall of RJR Nabisco” by Bryan Burrough.

The investment bankers at Shearson plotted their strategy around three words: Cash is king. By this they meant that they believed the special committee analyzing the bids would consider cash a superior form of payment than securities. To Johnson, historically a seller, the three little words made a lot of sense.

The story was an interesting kind of it own. Investigated by Bryan Burrough and John Helyar, it dawned to me that the world by itself is greed. Having the introduction to the LBO, it dwelled between the two most prominent characters in the story - Ross Johnson and Henry Kravis.

It is a recommended book for those whom interested in learning about economics and the world of money.

Right now, I am sitting in the office in the middle of night. After the instant gratification on the Johor trip during the Deepavali holiday, I have to put up with the tasks that is pending of from me. It does not sounds good especially when yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon I had to face my manager. She wanted the things to be ready for discussion by tomorrow morning (Wednesday morning) which is few hours from now.

She asked me whether I could get things done since I did not spend my time over the weekend to complete the works. At that time, I knew that things are not as easy as it seems. Nonetheless I have already had my time last weekend so she threw me a question, whether I can get things ready by tomorrow for her. I knew for sure that I have no clue at all as I am lost. I can only reply her, “yeah, I get it done by tomorrow”

Hence I am here now alone in the office while everyone is enjoying the slumber night. Since that I was pretty worn out during the trip to Johor, right now my engine (my brain) is shutting down. This cannot happen. Urgh.. I still got 4 more tasks to completion…..

Last Friday I was having a meeting with my partner around PJ Section 14. As they finished the discussion somewhere between 5.30 in the evening, I received a phone call from the VP. He called in to question me, indirectly.

He was having the dilemma when he knew one of his staff is planning to resign. Was not sure whether he had any meaning when he mentioned that there is another company is hiring him for his due expertise and value added relationship with one of my client. This further added with the delaying of the maintenance contract that has been due diligence. The truth was not as dark as he imagined.

After the conversation, I decided to drop by to the MPH Warehouse Clearance sale. By the time I reached there, it was already 30 minutes past 6 in the evening. With that few minutes in hand, I quickly run through some stacks of the books. Eventually, I came out RM85 poorer. It was a bargain with 5 books and I managed to finish one title on the way to Kota Tinggi the next day.

Luckily I do not have much time otherwise I do not think it will be only RM85. Probably far more than I expected.

Just returned from Kota Tinggi, Johor. I was there for a 3D2N function, which is the annual thing. It is just like going back home. Except some of the familiar faces are not seen.

I learned a lot from this trip. Directly and indirectly. Having the stressful work over the past week, a short break should be able to allow me to regenerate to deal with the upcoming tenders submission. When it comes to the handling problems in life, we all need to learn to be a problem solver. Be it work related, financial or in relationship wise, we need to be able to solve problem. I guess that’s why certain people are being paid well. That because they solve other people’s shits and problems.

Through this time I learned that everyone have their own perceptions and the way they see things. Usually due to their past experiences as well as the people they mix with. For example, when Boon Siong shared the story of the sand and pearl, it dawned to me that everyone have their own perceptions. They draw up their own conclusions based on what they can comprehend and understand.

There are times in life when we all need to make our own choices. It can be hard to decide for own life and what if it is other people’s life? When these people put their faith and trust in you, how can you be sure that you did not make a wrong decision along the way? Hence I told myself that life is a composition of a series of life choices we make. There are times it is up, and there are times things are getting down.

Hence the first trial I got was when I reached back to KL to collect my car, was that my car was full of scratches. It was a deep cut here and there. My initial thought was the kids that got the markings there. I was pretty pissed off that it happens to me. I got to repaint my entire car and this cost me a hefty sum. Yes, I told myself that there is nothing can be undone. I made the choice to leave my car there 3 days ago. Now, I can only live up to it.

I cannot change the fact that is has been done but I can always change my mind how to react to it. Just like the other time when few of us went for the Cameron trip. Our dear friend make a mistake of booking the room few days later, yet we still accept the fact that things happened. There is no point to be upset and angry from that point onwards. We all manage to put it behind and scramble to look for room for a stay overnight.

That’s why I think the attitude is fairly important. The attitude sets your altitude. “In Everything Gives Thanks” is the famous quote from a friend of mine, Grace.

Dale was seriously getting his hands and feets wet through the whole week. Perhaps he might need to work throughout the weekend to meet his tenders deadline which falls on 30th October 2008. He seems to be in a deep thought most of the time. In fact, his seems fickle minded lately.

Juggling in the undecided issues with work, he seems to have bigger appetite for others non work related stuff. It seems he was quite disturbed. Maybe without him being realised that he is until that morning, when one of his friend raised this concern through msn. She asked whether Dale was fine since she read his blog the other day.

Dale replied, “Yeah. with work” just to cover off his real problems. Maybe he feels reluctantly to share out because it makes him vulnerable. Just like stripping himself naked before the other person. It makes him weak. Thus because of that, he had to succumb himself into this situation. Depressed and suppressing his emotion. Furthermore, his work demanding him to hide his emotions far out. Should not ever display it out. Put on a poker face. It is hard for him to do that because he himself knew his is a typical sanguine personality. A happy go lucky kind of person.

Coming to the weekend, he seems getting all the jitters. Probably because of the anticipation from the Johor trip as well as the expectations that was build up from last year. Dale starts to think about the letter he wrote, and manage to recall partial of the contents. What makes him worse was the 3 days will be blocked from the modern technology where the telecommunication might not be applicable. Will his preparation for the tenders be sufficient by this Friday? Only God knows.

What else that is required of him right now. He have no idea except he knew he just got the two AA battery cells for his torch light. Reminding that before he is retiring to bed tonight, he will need to affix the cells into the torch light first. He might be long forgetful lately it so he seems to be.

Days seems to be short-lived. Memories are for long-lived if one can wait.

That is the time when you know you no longer have the blessings from the high above. All you have left is both of your hands. Your sweats and hardwork is far most important enough to help you pull through the times.

Sometimes, it is by choice and option. Eventually it is up to individual to define their luck. I gave up mine a moment ago. Or consider it as a blessing to share it with others.

“v realy break dy”

This is the message I saw this morning. I received as early of seven something. If it was me last time, I would be very excited and called her up. First thing I need to know was how I can be of help to assist her in solving the matter. Not me. Not today.

I was no longer a little over bothered by this matter. Even though I knew that I should be responsible about it. Not that really I was the third party but …

on the other hand, there won’t be any more ice at the North Pole this year. North Pole is melting.

chapter: finale

So when the both the monk and the apostle meet, therefore a man just give up his. What you seen he has been doing and going through no longer matters. That is just because he knew that it is the rule that is being wrong. Often I keep telling people that at times when you see the rules and regulations, it is just a guidelines. More or less, it tell you what can be done and what cannot. It is there for keep the most commoners in order.

Hence I rather am to be punished but to give up my freedom to choose to remain as it is. For that, is another story for another time?

chapter: the apostle

The other day, Leroy called me up for a dinner session with him since he was on his way home. I told him that I was around Cheras and I could meet up with him for a dinner session, even though I had took my dinner earlier. At the A&W Leisure Mall was our rendezvous place. He ordered a set of value meal while I brought along a McDonald’s Banana Pie despite of the rule “no pets and outside food allowed”

By the time I finished the pie, Leroy’s meal had yet being served. As he finished the last bite of the burger, I told him that I have the caffeine withdrawal syndrome and I needed coffee. He agreed to join me for a cup of coffee at the Starbucks next door.

chapter: the monk

As I shared with Wilson the other day, that I recently so keen into some interesting hobbies such as being an audiophile. I explained to him that my intention to involved in the sound thingy like setting up the pirate radio station, installing software to do DJ – such as the Cakewalk and related software. It just feels that way.

I might as well get an audio mixer so I can hook up with some instruments. That I can produce my list of songs to be broadcast over the pirate radio once the radio unit has been completed. I told him that I could be famous for this. more…

Some time back, not long ago I was out meeting a friend. It was because that I had the expectation out of it that I have eventually amounted such hope that unable to be fulfilled. It turn out to be the least expected but what the heck. Life goes on.

My discovering was somewhat expected when the lad told me that another was invited to join the session. Initial stage of the thought was that out nearby drinking something mild, non-alcoholic. Ended up in the vicinity of the Changkat Raja Chulan. That is after my detour to Pavilion’s Michelangelo’s for a slice or two of the pizza. By the time I returned to the Werner’s to find hings reveled themselves. I see different kind of nuns running around. Some were on the tabletop, stools and so on. It was a sight of delight.

How could it be when things just doesn’t go your way? all i know and all I can endure, I will do it. Against what the world are subject to complacent to. Not me. I always the opposition. Against the grain to say the least.

Halfway through my initial draft, I was late for a meeting that required my dearest attention. Hence, I rushed my way through the post and to attend the meeting. It was interesting meeting because the world is so small. Almost everyone there know everyone, of the every man Jack.

making the headlines in the recent times is nonetheless the credit crisis that has been overwhelm with publicity. Most of all, how the US Government is enforcing the leading 9 banks to accept the government fund of $250bn to overcome the credit crisis issues. This will eventually reflecting the free-market capitalism of the states are being nationalized.

The bailout plan is just like a pinch of salt, rubbing the salt into the injury. I recalled the US Government used to condemn the Malaysia’s government for putting the money in to nationalized some of the companies when we hit our 1997 crisis. Now, they are doing the same time by nationalized the banks. With such action, it is like a pot calling the kettle black.

So if you were working with these 9 leading banks, and when the banks has been nationalized, then you are going to be part of the national assets. A national property. In another word, you can consider yourself as the government servant.

Will it be the end of free market?

As per my conversation with dSaintx this afternoon, I told him that I am leaving which in he added whether I am leaving on a jet plane? I told him that leaving the office to attend a meeting with customer. Then we linger around the song by John Denver and ironically the guy die on a plane crash. Do you know that statistics shows that the fatality is much more lower when it come to comparison with vehicles accident.

Lately, I been losing my mojo as mentioned by Sasha. Not sure where to begin but it has been slowly depreciating from my side as the workload or job demanding more of my time. Altogether I have been focusing on doing other things besides just blogs. In fact, I was thinking should I just remove all those bloody ads and focusing with just my stuff. Just the temptation of the cash flow really hard to resist. I think I should not be so obsess with it rather just place one big ads banner on the side and get whatever I can get.

Apart from all these, I just think I have found on the theme I would like to settle down for a while. I think this it is.
