Uncivilized Civilization Citizen – BFK 7334

November 28th, 2009 frostier View Comments

On Saturday I was enjoying my own sweet time having a drink at McDonald’s. I parked my car at the outside of the Pizza Hut outlet next to the McDonald’s in Petaling Jaya Seksyen 14.

When I left the premise to my car, I find out that my car was blocked by a double parking car. The Toyota Unser was a blockade and there is no way I can get out without it being shifted.

Reluctantly I honked twice. I was waiting for the rightful owner to come and moved his car away so I could drive away. I waited for a while. One. Two. Three. Four and Five….. No one come.

I suspected that the owner of this red coloured Toyota Unser is patroning the Pizza Hut. I look into the premise from my car and saw there were a few patrons inside. One of the patrons keep looking out and I initially thought it was them. I then also saw another man dressed in white. He was wearing a kopiah and he was sitting facing inside reading newspaper. I thought no much of the person.

I continue honked and honked. Then I continued with a long and short honks but of no response. No one attended to me to remove the car. I was getting impatient. There can’t be such unresponsive drivers could there. There is no contact number of whatsoever.

Then the man dressed in white, sort of baju kurung type. That attire was a one piece shirt. He in age I suspect late 30s to 40s, was also wearing kopiah walked out of the Pizza Hut premise. In his hand holding a plastic bag containing the pizza he bought from there. Take away I presume.

I was inside the driver seat looking at him walking from right to left in front of me. The sound of Toyota Unser disalarmed. The man was the owner of the rightful car. The freaking owner. He in haste open the door car and get into the driver seat without looking at me. His car door hit my car mudguard and he was acting nonchalant about it. WTF!!!

I was so pissed off at the fact he simply ignored that he was blocking me and acted nothing about it. How on earth does this can happened in Malaysia?

Miss Hypertune 2009

November 27th, 2009 frostier View Comments

I was invited by Wingz thanks to the Sony Xplod Car audio system and Sony Alpha to join in for the Miss Hypertune 2009 Final held in the Mist, Bangsar. Kenny Ng came along. I had to fetch Wingz and 2 more alphanatics earlier in Cheras. That night, it was drizzling.

When we reached there, it was too early. There were not much crowd thus Kenny was trying out the Sony Alpha 550, to compare and understand the features. Maybe he got poisoned to convert from Nikon to Sony? :P

It was a uphill challenge for me to shoot in this situation. I have never been in a runway shooting and further added I still not good with the flash gun. The bouncing and settings stuff. Simply put it, I still having hard time to do make the pictures perfect. Oh well, here it goes

the strong female

November 24th, 2009 frostier View Comments

Just when I thought I could just go to bed after the heavy downpour, it turns out that my mind have its own will. Begins to ponder on the word ‘love’ by itself.

Having mentioned that, I have a couple of female friends whom claimed that they are the strong women. Especially in the market place. They tend to be the strong willed ladies and this usually intimated the guys. Will this hinder the approach since the female seems to be the stronger sex. Does the man feels inferior as this reflected the egoism within them?

The Road Home

November 23rd, 2009 frostier View Comments

It has been kept on the side of my car door for months. Finally, I managed to finish it. I not sure when I begins but I am for sure that it took me quite a while. I can’t remember how I pick it up off the shelves but probably amongst the Orange Prize for Fiction tag was there.

It is a story about a Polish man, whom lost his job and his wife decided against all odd to go to London and work leaving his age old mother, Ina and the young little daughter, Maya back in Auror. Perhaps that Lev was lucky because he still have Rudi, a character of fire and strength throughout the story to watch over Lev’s mother and his child.

The story begins with the trip leaving for London and ends when he found the road home. In the deep city of London, his heart finds the people from all over the country. The ‘immigrants’, ‘foreigners’ or ‘outsiders’ which we do have here in Malaysia. The insight of these lonely creatures outcast from the homeland to struggle to make a living. Some lost in the temptation of the city while others longed to returns.

It was a intense book, I would say. The feeling of melancholia is overwhelming and this suits me just fine. Although the book received mixtures of critics, I think Rose Tremain deserves the credit for this wonderful work.

With the good rest from the night before, both Yatz and I were total rejuvenated. Waking up to the sound of the waves hitting the shores, I could not imagine any other place to be than that moment. It just makes me in awe listening to the waves.

The Boats

The Boats

We begin the day a little grumpy but that is solved after having our breakfast. That’s why ‘minum milo anda jadi sihat dan kuat’. Finally our ride has arrived and off we hopped in. We reached to the rendezvous point and behold, were greeted by 4 lovely ladies (we wished and hoping they will be joininng us in the same boat) in a small hut adjacent to the beach.

Sometimes you just worried too much. Especially when things doesn’t work out as the way you planned. Then we make amends. Despite the effort, it might just fall against deaf ears.

There are no such things called smooth journey. It is all about trial and tribulation. Everything is a journey. A little a day and we can make it someday… just time can tell. Persistence and consistency

Food Review Outing – Ken Well Seafood Restaurant

November 18th, 2009 frostier View Comments

Being the first time heading to review the food, especially with such senior and veteran bloggers in this food field I was a little taken aback. I feared that I couldn’t keep up with their hyper sensory taste buds as to mine. Nonetheless, it was an eye opening moment for me.

I reached to the place early and soon getting hungry after waiting for the rest to come by. Thanks to Yatz for his arrangement, we managed to gather some food bloggers together gather for eating out at this place – Ken Well Seafood Restaurant situated in Batu 11 Cheras. The place looks brightly lit orange in color. One can easily spotted opposite the Pejabat Pos Depot Serahan Batu 11.

Breakfast @ Imbi Market

November 17th, 2009 frostier View Comments

This place was made known to me when I wanted to meet up with Tony to pick up the comic few years back. He was working in the midnight shift and his shift ended at 7am.

Hainan Coffee

Hainan Coffee

Knowing as Bukit Bintang market as they were relocated to from now currently known as Lot 10 area, they filled with stalls trading various items under zinc roofs and canopies of umbrellas. They are famous for the food. Yes

Coffee for two

Coffee for two

Reaching there late, it was difficult to find a place to seat. Just ‘tumpang’ (share) the seats with another patrons. Find that everyone is making a beeline for the famous Hainan Tea aka Hainan Coffee and the ‘Roti Kahwin’.

Roti Kahwin

Roti Kahwin

‘Roti Kahwin’ is served in either toasted bread or buns with thick kaya (coconut jelly) and a thick cold butter. I ordered two slice of toasted bread and 1 piece of bun for a party of two along with the aromatic Hainan Coffee served cold with ices. This is the thirty year old plus stall known as Ah Weng can be recognize through their red plastic tables. Yes, the color still remains despite all these years.

Roti Kahwin (Bun Version)

Roti Kahwin (Bun Version)

I also ordered a bowl of curry mee to go along with. Not bad for RM4.50. They put a lot of Cocka cockles inside, though I not that fancy it. As I making my way out from the market, I could not resist the temptation to get some ‘apong’ or some called it ‘Appam’. She called it a larger version of ‘Kuih Kapit’ (Love Letter) because it is made from coconut milk batter and cooked till crispy in small woks. I beg to differ because the difference is the center of the ‘apong’ is tender juicy while ‘Kuih Kapit’ is pressed to form a piece/slice to fold in. It cost only RM2 for crispy piece of 5.

Maggi Mee

Maggi Mee

How to go there?
Situated along Jalan Melati and right behind Imbi Palace Restaurant. It is easily spotted and accessible on a one way street. You can park your car along the market which has two entrances, which I find it really rare. There is also two open air car park which charges RM2 per entry on the two entrances.

Will I return?
Yes. I will. I still wanted to taste the porridge and the popiah.
