5 Basic Cinetiquette
Going to the cinema for an hour or so to break free from the reality is one of the pastime I enjoy. Let’s look at it this way. If the people aren’t enjoying themselves in the cinema, why would the cinema mushroomed over the entire Klang Valley. It wasn’t enough to hold the entire of us.

Come on, everyone is trying to enjoy the film so it is important to adhere to basic rules of etiquette. In this case, the Cinetiquette!!!
1. No Karate Kid Please
Sometimes, I did it accidentally but just because I want to get comfy. You know, after a while you need to shift the position. However, do refrain from kicking the seat in front of you. Best of all, some just shaking their legs (or even 3rd leg) and causing your seat vibrate to his vibration.
My advise, try get comfortable early and then be still.
2. Punctuality
Nothing beats being early. I don’t get it that why everyone wanted to just come in when the film started. You pay sum hefty amount for a ticket. Yet, without knowing your ticket price comes along with the ads prior to the film. So get yourself in early and enjoy the commercial ads, trailer and the film.
Try be in early as nobody wants their viewing interrupted by others trying to get to their seat. Especially if the seat is right in the middle of the row.
3. Silence your phone or your kids
Why I like to go to cinema because there is only one way communication. We just the viewer and let the film do the talking. Nobody like if the phone ringing with exception it was the mobile phones in the film itself. Same goes to the kids. Depending on the situation, imagine the kids crying out loud when the film is at the climax. Such an anti-climax.
4. Public affection
Let’s be frank. Everyone especially couple love being in the dark. Cinema is dark. It’s a nice place to hang around and make out. But being overly affectionate in public is embarrassing for others especially in Malaysia.
Yes. Even back then my teacher told me that Malaysian bath with clothes on. -.-’
So keep your affection in the back row to minimum. Please.
5. Stop the chatter
It’s okay if you want to talk or whisper to your companion / company in the cinema. But do it with bare minimum. Once, when I was watching the “Sex and the City 2″ I had this couple lady chatting to each other throughout the whole session.
This is the part I hate most. Serious.
I had my nerves on when they keep putting on remarks like, “Wah.. she so lucky”, “Big C so stupid”, and this and that… Luckily I refrained from stuffing the Apple into both of their mouth.
These are few etiquette that I have in mind. If you have extra, do share with me.
Hopefully I can enjoy my trip to the cinema next time.
