First of all, I never liked Sunway Pyramid. I always think the place confusing. Traveling there for a food review is fine. However, the attempt to get an empty car parking lot seems to be an uphill task. It took me almost an hour to find a spot. Gosh, I wonder who goes to Pyramid. Technically I can deduct these patrons are from either Putra Heights or Kota Kemuning people. No life around there is it?

Anyway, that’s not the main point of this post. The main point is here.

The place is situated far towards the left side of the Pyramid – just outside of Parkson. Hence, geographically it doesn’t do much justice because who on Earth will drive up all the way jamming inside the Pyramid carpark just for the food? Somehow it will still ended up as an option for the patrons when they decided what to dine. I almost got frustrated just to look for the place. *pulls hair*

Yet, another selling point here is the price point. Somehow it is reasonable and worth for money. Yes with the reasonable portion. Not to stuff you full till food coma tho’ – A menu screenshot is attached below for comparison.

This has to truly thank the Overtime Pavilion for the opportunity. Did you know they have a Facebook page too? One of my customer told me that he often joined his colleagues to Overtime in Puchong whenever there’s the company meeting. Each time, he ended up with 2 barrels, drunk. Well, that because the word Starker derived from a German word that means ‘stronger’. It literally revives an old world style of beer drinking, offering you a strong, unrivalled taste of truly fresh beer that many beer lovers have missed for generations. By this time, you would already know of Overtime, and the very famous Starker beer.

I told my dealer that there’s no good food in Johor Bahru. He laughed and then told me, ‘don’t let the local hear you. They will kill you’.

Around 7pm, we adjourned for our dinner in the JB town. It has been a while since my last visit to Johor state. So he drove me around Taman Abad area to look for the famous food. After a while almost to 8pm, we technically agree that it is not at the place so we headed for another taman.

This time, we ended up in Taman Sentosa and he found the place. It is Teck Sing Restaurant. Famous for its chicken bag paper, we go ahead and ordered 1 for the table.

My first bite on the fresh and tender kampung chicken..yummy. It was cooked with varieties of traditional Chinese herbs, specially made sauce and ingredients are wrapped in superior paper and baked for several hours. I found out that 9 out of the 10 tables ordered the same delicious and nutritious Teck Sing Paper Baked Chicken.

I was surprised by the food they prepared just for Ramadhan buffet. This is overwhelming and I can’t decide what to eat. There’s just so much of food. I had myself 3 rounds of food.

I notice there were a few stalls set up by the poolside. Grilled lamb, Ikan Bakar and what not the Satays… Most of the stalls are named based on the P.Ramlee’s movies. Later I was told that the theme this year was according to P.Ramlee’s. Even the waiters are dressed to that era time.

This Ramadhan buffet is my first session this year.

I wanted to meet up with Jason Lioh as he was around Pudu area. He also asked where is the famous siew yoke located.

Unfortunately for him, he had to rush back omitting the delicious siew yoke.

I had two (2) slice takeaway for savory later in the evening. What else is better than getting intoxicated with such carbs.
