Despicable Retailing Salesman
Last week after the char siew lunch at Aman Suria, both Athan and I went for homeware shopping.
Actually it was me who is looking for double tap. So we both went to the Uptown area at the same time looking for bulb purchase as recommended by Alicia. Although the service provided by the Perfect Lighting wasn’t that ideal but in comparison to the earlier outlet for kitchen ware, they fare better.
Athan was recommending to opt for Sorento in which comes with five (5) years warranty if there is any leakage.
We went inside this kitchenaid which is next to terimee slimming centre in uptown. I was looking around when I saw the type I was looking for. They do sell Sorento brand as well but at the price tag if RM 280.
Due to budget constraint I was pretty keen for a cheaper brand which comes with one (1) year warranty. Plus poor finishing. It was only RM110nett.
After talking to the salesperson which I don’t get his name, he convinced me to look at Sorento. Which I did of course since her.said he will be giving me some discount.
His price to me was RM230. Thinking that with that price I can get two of that poor brand, we bargain for RM210. He said that he need to check for stock in the store room.
After he came out from the store room, he open the cash book to write us the bill. The moment he wrote RM230, we had to stop him as we were expecting that it was confirmed at RM210.
He argued that RM230 is the best price and the same discount he gave to all contractors. That was it. Athan and I leave the place.
Later in the next outlet just next to station one, I manage to get the similar tap at RM190 which saved me RM40. Further more its the same warranty like Sorento and the branding is Rubine.
Just hate the technique he use to do the retailing. Expecting that the consumer will not mind paying extra since the cash bill has been written.
