Going to Langkawi – Island Hopping
*** I recalled that I drafted this post before the entire hosting down. Urgh. FML but anyway. ***
With the good rest from the night before, both Yatz and I were total rejuvenated. Waking up to the sound of the waves hitting the shores, I could not imagine any other place to be than that moment. It just makes me in awe listening to the waves.
We begin the day a little grumpy but that is solved after having our breakfast. That’s why ‘minum milo anda jadi sihat dan kuat’. Finally our ride has arrived and off we hopped in. We reached to the rendezvous point and behold, were greeted by 4 lovely ladies (we wished and hoping they will be joininng us in the same boat) in a small hut adjacent to the beach.
First stop was the Pulau Dayang Bunting known as the “Island of the Pregnant Maiden”. With every beautiful place comes to a nice legend behind it. Thus, the lake within the island claimed to be the very famous for remedy for those who wanted to conceive child but unable to? This is the magical water you looking for.

Due to the bridge falling down, we are unable to travel around the lake to take a look at the “miracle border”. It is called miracle border because it signifies the slim borderline between the lake and the sea. With the distance of merely 30meter apart, the lake is not salty. Of course I did not taste it.
Next stop, we were heading to Pulau Singa Besar. It think that is the place because there were aplenty of eagles circling the skies. I could see the 2 species swooping down and plucking the fishes from the sea. One is the famous and common Brahminy Kit which contrasting its white head and brown wings a little smaller to the White-bellied Fish Eagle. It was said that the island got its name after the eagle. In Malay called Helang aka Lang. So Helang becomes Lang + kawi
Though the trip was suppose to be a few islands hopping, we made the last stop at the Pulau Beras Basah. Also known for the crystal clear waters and pure white sandy beaches, the moment I step my feet there it was truly ideal. In fact it is a good spot for sunbathing and ogle at the chicks we saw earlier. Nonetheless, me and Yatz manage to do some skodeng here since they were up in open air.
There weere lushly green forest that surrounds the island adds a sense of tranquility. There you can find an outlet providing some entertainment which includes the banana boat ride, para-gliding and much more.
Our trip cost us RM40 each which I find out it was a little pricey to the fact that it should cost around RM35 per person. Meals and drink are not provided tho’. In the end, probably the additional RM5 was for the free pickup ride?
So in a summary, just make the way to Pantai Cenang and we can save up RM5 next time. Speaking about it, the operators were smart by taking photos of us and sell it later by printing it in a sticker form, affix to a plate and sell it at RM10 a piece.
By noon, both of us were back in the room. Taking a short break, for a shower before hitting the Kuah street later on.
