Importance of Character

How do people see you as?

Can you stand tall, walk tall from all the things you have done?

The poet wrote, ‘I have to live with myself and so, I want to be fit for myself to know. I want to be able as days go by, always to look myself in the eye. I don’t want to stand in the setting sun and hate myself for the things I’ve done. I don’t want to keep on a closet shelf, a lot of secrets about myself; and fool myself as I come and go, into thinking nobody else will know – the kind of man I really am.’ Nothing is more important than your character. No matter how rich or successful you become, when you lose your character you’ve lost everything. And one more thought: if you always do the right thing, you’ll never have to worry about remembering what you did!

Why would one person think they are holier than thou, if they lie, cheated, bribes, and so on. What happens to the real values nowadays? It has thinned or diluted to an extent that a little sin makes us lovelier.

No matter what, all that would ended up matter is your character. If you have always been doing the right thing, everyone will remember what you did. They will appreciate you. Which is why sometimes I am worried if I am being trustworthy or not. I know too much. Too many secrets of others. So the best way to keep a secret is to not know it.

Knowing I am far from perfect, as none is. Rather prefer not to regret at my deathbed. So I guess the character do tell a lot about a man. How he will be remembered in the end.
