The movie is based on the two real life stories – mashed together through the common interest which is food. Two of them have the same obsessions for food. Both of them doing French cooking. Julie was having her tough time in life and out of the sense of restless, she decided to blog about her attempt. She wanted to tackle all the 524 recipes that is in the first volume of Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” in 365 days. Her experiment of food and her ordeal with the recipes are being posted online.
At the same time, the film returns back to Julia Child’s which was based on her autobiography “My Life in France”.
One thing I learned from the film is that we need to have something to drive us through the tough times. Something we want to hang on to. 
Like cooking for instance.
