Making Awesome Milo
This morning I tweet about making drink. If you are making a drink either from a scheme powder or instant 3-in-1, what is the best way to do it?
I remembered that there was this one time my friends and I argue about it. Do we pour the powder first or the hot water first?
Few of them tweet about the powder first before the water. Milo some said pour in cold water first, then the Milo powder. Stir a while. Then add in hot water. Stir clockwise 7 times, anti-clockwise 7 times. Then you are done.
I asked is it going to be an awesome drink? Three of them, dSaintx, rkaru and even mossie said the same. Curious on why, I google. Yes. Google is your best friend.
Here’s the findings:-
The only time I’m sure it noticably effects what your cooking is when you boil potatoes (or any other thick root vegetable). If you start with hot water when boiling potatoes they cook too fast on the outside and get mushy before the middle is cooked. Starting with cold water lets the entire piece of potato get hot along with the water and it cooks through evenly.
The general thought here is to use water that you would drink. You would never drink water from your hot water heater.
I shall try it the day after tomorrow!
