MAS Makan Penang – The Mobile Business
With the launching of flymas.mobi, I had the luxury to test out the latest online booking system.
We carpooled ourselves with me picking up Aaron, Wingz and Thomas on my way to the airport. By the time I picked Thomas, it was 9.30am and we were extremely late. The time to board the plane was 10.05am. Luckily with the flymas.mobi everyone were able to check in via their mobile phones. Only Wingz couldn’t due to some technical issues.
Armed with the boarding pass (the 2D boarding pass) we headed straight to the domestic departure gate. Showing only the 2D boarding pass and MyKad, it was a swift process. Only by scanning the phone, we were through. Two things I can think of. One, no need afraid of losing the boarding pass. You can download and save it on the phone. Secondly, save paper and help the environment.
The drawback? What if the phone failed? MAS told us that they have the contingency plan. Talk to the officer. I believe they have all backup plan planned.
On the last Sunday which is the 13th of December, Aaron, Thomas, Wilson, Wingz and few others went together with the MAS Travel (#masmakan) to Penang for food.
Penang famous for its food heaven was our stop. We picked up by “Protein” whom brought us around the island for food. Our first stop was to Nasi Kandar Line Clear. Going out with foodie scares me. Seriously. Most of them are slim and slender. But they have huge appetite. First of all, they can clear the entire plate of the Nasi Kandar. It was too much for me by then.
The queue was all time long. From the moment I step into the place until I exited the place, the crowd is awesomely full. The spice was up to standard. After that, we walked down the street to the Chendol at Penang Road.
Don’t pray pray because even PCK also came here for the Chendol, aitellu.
They have two option which is road side savoring the chendol or going into the shop and dine inside with additional cost RM0.10
CK dropped by to bring us to the famous and original coconut jelly by Joez Coconut. According to them, they will most likely to open up a shop in KL. Wonder when…. The coconut jelly sell at RM3.70 per unit.
Next stop – Pasembur. By this time, I am already stuffed. Seriously I don’t even feel like making a move down. I was asking whether can they tarpao the pasembur and eat inside the bus. The weather was glaring hot. Oh ya, we did detour to a shop – or the tour guide say “factory outlet” where you can buy local produce.
The place we went for the Pasembur is near to the Fort Cornwallis, the place where Captain Francis Light first landed in 1786.
Most of us were pretty stuffed big time by the end of this session. Filled, we headed back to Penang Airport, Bayan Lepas. I felt asleep on the way. Too much food.
Reached Kuala Lumpur around 6 something. Well, it was a true luxury experience to fly to Penang to savor the food and return on the same day. I had a friend whom travel by flight daily just because he had to support the customer. So mine was totally different experience – just go for the food. Thanks to Malaysia Airlines System (MAS).
