Emo Dale Emo

August 17th, 2010 frostier View Comments

Feels like having a break on the reality. Wanted to walk away. Being a soul that’s carefree.

 Emo Dale Emo

In front of me is the “Application For Leave” form that I need to fill. Looking at the calender, I also don’t know where to go. What to do. Lost. I am. All I know is that I want to breakaway from all these. Crap reality is sucks.

*Give sufficient details for consideration. Reporting Superior has the right to reject the application if no reason is provided* and I thought that having annual leave is the right.

Escape from KL – Saya Nak Cuti

February 22nd, 2010 frostier View Comments

I laughed myself when I thought about escaping from KL. I recalled back then someone called in back in middle of 2009. I think. I can’t remember though but she called me up, sobbing saying she wanted some $$$ from me. She wanted to run away. She wanted to escape from KL. The place she was heartbroken. I listened and assure her that it is just an impulse. It won’t help to soothe the ache. When she return to KL, eventually she still has to face it after all.

But now, it was I who wanted to escape the KL city.

Everyone whom been to Bali tells me it was great experience and enjoyable. This making me envy and yearn to go to Bali at least for once in my lifetime. Yet, what to do in Bali? I need to do some research still. Meh~

Black Sand Beach

Soon the sky getting clear, we headed to other destination before our check-in is due. Next drop was the Black Sand Beach. I often thought the black sand beach was like the Cenang beach or any beach that long stretch along the shores.

Black Sand Beach at Langkawi

When I reached there, it was quite a disappointment to see that the beach seems not being maintained well. According to Yatz, he said that the blackness of the sand is deteriorating. I suspect due to the poor maintenance. It is a pity because I used to hear a lot of stories about the black sand beach. Mostly from the legend of Mahsuri.

Going to Langkawi – The Final Day

December 16th, 2009 frostier View Comments

Waking up on the third day, which is our final day at Langkawi we decided to check out the hotel early and headed to the hanging bridge. Not to forget that our flight was in the late noon time.

DSC 2410 200x300 Going to Langkawi The Final Day

However, the morning was turn upside down with the little drizzle as we leave the hotel. Hungry, we decided to get a quick grab in one of the shop along Cenang Beach before going to the Hanging Bridge. I was the driver this time around and thus, I did not manage to take any picture of the breakfast until we reach the Loaf area. Yatz told me that this place is where our former Prime Minister, Dr. Seri Dr. Mahathir’s the Loaf is located.

With the sky getting clearer, we headed for the sky bridge. Hoping that the bridge is open. Otherwise we can’t shoot much on top of the peak there. The normal entrance fee was RM30 for adult and RM20 for kids. If you show the MyKad aka IC at the counter, you will be getting 50% discount.

Going to Langkawi – Dataran Lang

December 10th, 2009 frostier View Comments

If you been to Langkawi, you need to get your picture taken at Dataran Lang. This is what I think it has to be apart from having bringing back those tax exempted liquor or cigarettes.

A little follow up from where Yatz and I was that we were sent on to Langkawi to seek out precious gems but we ended up camwhoring at the Dataran Lang. Being a first timer in Langkawi, I was mesmerized with the huge eagle there.

We headed home for dinner and soon, we were kind of tipsy from the drink. We are lousy drinker. Yatz keeps telling me that Earlku is a better drinker. I bet he is.

After the dinner, the night was still young. We decided to stroll along the beach of Cenang and some window shopping. The premises operated till 11pm or late.

We ended up back into the room when it started to drizzle a little. Once we finished the mojito, i’m on my dreamland preparing for the next day.

*** I recalled that I drafted this post before the entire hosting down. Urgh. FML but anyway. ***

With the good rest from the night before, both Yatz and I were total rejuvenated. Waking up to the sound of the waves hitting the shores, I could not imagine any other place to be than that moment. It just makes me in awe listening to the waves.

The Boats

We begin the day a little grumpy but that is solved after having our breakfast. That’s why ‘minum milo anda jadi sihat dan kuat’. Finally our ride has arrived and off we hopped in. We reached to the rendezvous point and behold, were greeted by 4 lovely ladies (we wished and hoping they will be joininng us in the same boat) in a small hut adjacent to the beach.

Going to Langkawi

October 18th, 2009 frostier View Comments

Langkawi Island is located at the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Being the Jewel of Kedah, it is an archipelago of 99 islands and famous for being a duty-free island. Note that Malaysia is the country whereby implying the heavy sin taxes. Thus, being able to go to Langkawi will means cheaper booze and freaking cheap cigarettes.

Welcome Sign at the Langkawi International Airport

Welcome Sign at the Langkawi International Airport

Known as one of the tourism spot, Yatz and I were on our journey (or yat and only journey…) to Langkawi last week. Being my first time to Langkawi Island, there were plentiful of tourism spots for me to feast on. With Yatz previous experience of taking the bus which leads to winding road and long hours, we decided to Get the Deal from the national carrier – Malaysia Airlines. It is as low as RM69 one way. You need to sign up with for the updates from the Get-the-Deal packages. Tempting to go to K.Kinabalu or Tawau now. More seafood!!!!

Anyway, back to our trip that the two of us we giving our first time together. For me, it was my first time to Langkawi despite being a Malaysian whom never visited Langkawi for its cheap booze. Not even during my teen years. As for Yatz, it was his first time flying. Never been on a plane, I find myself as doing a documentary shooting for Yatz in our 3 Day 2 Night stay. *mental note to Yatz: you should give me chocolates that you bought from there… mana itu Ferrero Rocher?*

All About Yatz

All About Yatz

I took a cab from Gombak on the Friday morning to KL Sentral which cost me RM11.30. Not bad except the heavy traffic at the Jalan Tun Razak intersection near to the Flat Pekeliling. The taxi driver and I talked a lot which reminds me of the short film from 15Malaysia. Yatz was there when I reached KL Sentral. I almost couldn’t recognize Yatz with his new look. I was searching for a young tall white male with a long hair. Silly me.

Yatz in ERL

Yatz in ERL

First, we try to get the ERL ticket first followed by checking in. Realized that if we were to check in our luggage in KL Sentral, it has to be 2 hours before the flight. I told Yatz the night before whether he wanted to check in online or only when we were at KL Sentral. We choose the latter one. We took the ERL which was only 28 minutes trip and arrived in KLIA sooner that we estimated. The ticket only cost us RM35 each. Not bad for a 28 minutes ride.

Flight MH1446

Flight MH1446

We boarded the flight MH1446 – a Boeing 737-400 which can caters up to 144 seating with the wing spanning 28.90m. The maximum fuel capacity is 6200 US Gallons and can reach the cruising speed of Mach 0.74. That’s 797 km/h. MAS have about 37 unit of this aircraft.

Ferrying the disabled and elderly

Inside the flight, seated at the seat number 23E I told Yatz I wanted to pick the seat next to the aisle so I can meet up with Anges Soh again and snap some pictures of her sweet smile snap some photo of the cabin crew when they doing the demonstration how to put on the life jacket when emergency happens. With the spacing between the front and back seat, I was able to move around adjusting my position to shoot the cabin crew.

Spacious seat in MAS

Spacious seat in MAS

Contrary from what I imagine how long the flight might take based on my previous flight (back in 10 years old then) which took more than 30 min from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur, we were doing touchdown around 2pm-ish. That was pretty fast and I was expecting they served muffins (like back in 15 years ago). Well, cannot complain about the meal when the flight ticket is now lower and affordable compared to last time. If were to compare to other airlines, this one comes free.

Free Kacang and Drink

Free Kacang and Drink

Since it was my first time being in Langkawi, I leave the planning to Yatz. First of all, we get a car. This is to enable the ease of moving from 1 place to another – since we will be running around the island. So, we approached or being approached by the car rental provider within the airport itself. Either way, I could not hinder myself from getting from this company. Yes, the sales girl was practically showing off her cleavage. Non-intentional because it only happens when she leaned forward to explain the cars available and the accommodation available in Pantai Cenang.

In the midst of the discussion, we opted for the brand new Proton Saga which was a couple month old compared to year old Sentra. The difference was only RM60 per day. Well, like they say.. “belilah barangan buatan Malaysia”. With the transportation settled, time to hunt for the accommodation. According to Yatz, the best place to stay is along the Cenang Beach. They have endless fine sandy beach that is stretch long. By the way, it is a happening place too.

Mali Perdana Resort

Mali Perdana Resort

We rented a room at Mali Perdana Resort. Our room was just right next to the beach. I could hear the waves from the sea hitting to the shores. In fact, on the second night there were some guys there were doing film shooting. It was a decent room with reasonable price tag on it. It comes with aircon, water heater, tv and wifi. *note : Langkawi got 3G Maxis coverage, don’t play play.*

By the time we settled both the car and the place to stay, it was around 5pm. Haste not, Yatz and I headed to Awana Porto Malai to take some photos. Time for me to try out Chua’s Sigma wide angle. It was a quiet place. Peaceful and calm. The majestic of the building give me the feeling of exquisite. Wonder how does the room interior looks like. Meantime, I was getting busy myself trying to catch some angle and a couple of nice shots.

Soon, the day is getting dark and it seems like the sun is settling down. We headed to Cenang Beach to take some sunset shots. The Lighthouse Restaurant at the end of Cenang Beach claimed that it has the best sunset view. Most of the patrons are the foreigners that visiting Langkawi Island. I couldn’t resist but to take some photos of it.

When we were on the move, Yatz notice the signboard “Fat Mum Seafood Restaurant” which he told me that this place must come and eat. It was recommended by his friend for Fat Mum’s famous “Noodle on Fire”. Little that we know that the Fat Mum famous not just for her specialty noodle on fire but her tofu, homemade noodles and more.

Wat Po Wat

July 2nd, 2009 frostier View Comments

After walking under the blazing sun, the sun begin to set. At this moment, we are heading to Wat Po. Under the guide of Bob as we call it since neither 3 of us can remember his name.

Took some pictures at Wat Po. Most of the Wat has been closed temporarily as they are preparing to embrace the Songkran festival the next day.

Again

Until we get tired and wanted to go back to the hotel. Having plan to go to Cabbage and Condoms, it was best in mind that we take some rest before heading out again. So, we told the guide that we need to go back to the hotel at 5pm irregardless.

Further added that we are no intention to buy any gems or stones or whatever shit they wanted to bring us to scam. So while at the place, I took few of the shoots before going back to the hotel.
