Talking To Sister – Change of Job

Since earlier this year, my sister told me that she wanted to change job. I told her, are you sure? She told me that she had been thinking for some time. Now looking for a better pay job.

Half a year later, now she is still with her same job. I asked her, why you still there? Haven’t found your job? She told me that she haven’t found a replacement yet.

Harlow?!!! It’s been half a year and there’s no replacement. Out of my mouth, I told her…”so if for the rest of your life that the company can’t get a replacement, does it mean that you cannot leave at all?”

She just shut me off. My sis told me that I don’t understand at all. It’s all about the word responsibility and stuff. I want to tell her that besides responsibility there are things call timeline. You gave them the timeline and when it’s due, they need to pay for it.

Yes I do agree that she ought to stay until the replacement comes in. But it’s give and take situation. Given half a year time frame, it’s good enough for them to hire a new staff.

Let just say we put in the hypothesis here. Given my sister salary is RM1000. She got an offer of RM1500, for this whole half a year, she is making less RM3000.

The company can only hiring new staff is they raise the salary bar to RM1250. Given in that situation, the company actually saved RM1500 in half a year.

And she is actually losing RM1500. But how long does this has to go on? She won’t listen and I can’t do anything. Sigh…..
