Ten Hours Sleep
Woot… I slept for ten hours last night. Guess I wasn’t in the pink which my wrist was throbbing in pain. A signal my body send to me. Hence, I took an early nap discarding my claims for the monthly expenses.
While waiting to fall asleep, I was flipping the pages of the remaining chapters. By the clock strikes 9.39pm, I had finished it. A very plain and simple story telling about the author who lost his “high” and well paid job ended up as a barista in Starbucks out of desperation. Michael Gates Gill, son of Brendan Gill from New Yorker wrote this book with profound findings from the transition of glamorous life to a simple life.
The book can be viewed in four phases from his discovering of surviving…even by means of getting a entry-level job; learning to apologize for being ignorant; all the good things about Starbucks and lastly him brushing shoulder with the famous people like Muhammad Ali.
There will be a movie starring Tom Hanks as Michael Gates Gill, in 2012. (source)
In summary, it’s all about the level of contentment and humility. We are human after all.
