“People come people go”

A nicely put statement that there are some things we cannot hold on to. Change in life. People in your life are seasonal. They make your life full variety, sometimes to the brim. That what was happening to my work place last year. Few good men left the company for a better and greener pasture. My blog still green but hoping that my job will become more greener this year.

When these great men left the company, they are opening the position for newcomer. Hence it was the beginning of the recruitment process last year. Many came for the interviews but as the story goes, only the few good ones are being shortlisted.

It was made known that whenever the management hold the interview with the candidates, a few good fellow will make their way through to the pantry to fill up whatever they had in their hand. Some bring a mug to wash. Some just wanted to fill their bottle with water. Along the way, they would stop by to take a sneak peek at the candidates. One of my colleague made a far bolder move. A step ahead whereby he had the audacity to message the boss about the candidate. He was commenting on the outlook of the lady he saw the boss interviewing.

Move forward to this year. By now the left side of my cubicle is filled with newcomer. Two of them to be precise. Both also are very sweet young thing. In fact, they seems to spike some communication between the sales and the technical. I guess the sweet young things do made a lot of difference. In the whole three years of tenure, the technical side does not drop by often to the sales side for some chit chatting. If you can hardly imagine, my office has only single floor, divided between the technical side and sales side from the entrance.

In fact, few of them were very obvious. I can almost see them everyday stopping by their cubicles for a chat or two. Like Ryan said, just because of the piece of it. At least that proves them to be normal rather than me being cold.

Asides from this, on yesterday the boss gave out a petal of rose to each and every ladies in the company. Just for Valentine’s Day sake. Curious, by the end of the day I spoke to one of the very old timer in the company. I asked if the boss ever pull this act before since the company established? The answer “…this is the first time”

Interesting to see what is happening around my workplace. Guess that the moral story from Dilbert did make a lot of sense.
