The Hurt Locker
When the world turn their attention to the award winning film, it started to gain popularity. When I watched it, I felt it is something different compared to those nominated ones although I haven’t finish watching others such as the Blind Side, Precious and Crazy Heart.
The Hurt Locker
Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, it is one of the best feature film about the war in Iraq. It has been a while now the war. Based on the script by Mark Boal, it is about the Delta company, an army unit in charge of detect, defuse or denote the bombs. Those hidden and deadly explosive traps.
It portrays the moments as we don’t really see in the actions films. How the civilians and citizens carried out their lives after the attack. Hide away? Go on with life? Continue to work? Many scenes in the films are long and drawn out especially those guns shooting scene. It was dramatically tension and give the sense of realism.

I thought at first they might be shooting in Iraq since that place is like a shit hole. Suicide bombers every now and then. Later I found out that in order for them to make the film as real as possible the filmmakers tried to get permission to film in Iraq. However, they were unable to thus opted for nearby Jordan which is just a few miles across the border of Iraq.
