the two horses

Long long time ago, in a land far far away there lives a wild horse. It is the black stallion strong as a stud. Legend calls it Wind but every living creatures in the forest called him Lightning for he possesses the speed and agility.

Once a while, he will run his way through the east side of the forest. From there up on the hill he would look down to the civilization below. He saw there were packed with human on one day and deserted the next day. Everyone came for the race day. Jam-packed with cars and humans, he envied the racing horses for able to compete amongst each other to find who is the best of all. He wanted to compete in this little race to emerge as the winner of all. Center of all attention. To him winning is everything.

Lightning realized that in every race if there is this “Lucky You” participated, the winning beholds. He seems eager to go against this Lucky You to see if he is the best of the best or nothing at all.

Our dear Lucky You often looked upon the hill every time the race ended wishing he could be the horse on the hill running wild, running free. But to no avail, he had been under the roof of the racing horses since his birth. Realizing that he could not be the one roaming free and wild, he succumb to his fate.

On the one fine day, the Lightning could no longer hold his horse but to run down the hill to talk to Lucky You. Lightning told Lucky You that he wanted to challenge him for the title of the fastest horse. He added that he was pretty envied him that he could compete with these studs and proved his dominance over the weaker breed.

Lucky You told Lightning that it wasn’t his desire to race but to survive in this little rat race designed by the human. Lightning retorted that he was silly and doesn’t even grateful for being able to be part of the competition. For the wins. Lightning added he had no one to compete in this free roaming field, and he needed some competition.

Lucky You responded by saying that is winning more important or being free. In fact, he says that he longed for what Lightning has been enjoying all these while. The freedom of being a wild horse. Running free with no restriction.

Then the both horses looked at each other realizing that the grass is greener on the other side.

Is Lightning taking his freedom for granted?
Is Lucky You taking his fame for granted?
Is Lightning sees that winning is everything?
Is Lucky You realized that there is no end in the rat race?
Is Lightning was right that competition among all is required for survival?

What is the moral of this story?
We will never be seeing things eye to eye. Everyone have different perspectives. It is just how we blend in with each others. Accepting the flaws and the views. Everyone see things differently after all the Creator make us unique.
