This Is So Wrong
Just when I noticed it, it has been whole day gone. Today is the second week Sunday of June. Hence, it is considered a Father’s Day. For what I did was nothing much that sitting in the office working on my accounts mapping for upcoming business review end of this month. Of course not only me but another 2 more colleagues stranded in the office as well. Thanks to my management who have decided that we need to submit in the accounts mapping by 18th of June before doing a review end of this month. They wanted to go through it.
So by sacrificing our weekend while my bosses enjoying their Father’s Day, I realised that there’s no balance in everything. Of course, I won’t give it a damn if my dad still around. At least I have a strong reason why I shouldn’t be spending time in my the office. It just struck my mind and at the same time provoking the thought. At first, I didn’t give it much of a care but now that I am so blue that I wanted to pen it down, before I lost my mind.
What happened was a week back, I received 2 missed call and a short text message (SMS). The time I check on my mobile phone was 7am in the morning. What I saw was 2 missed call, 1 from the boss and the other from another colleague. Then I check on the content of the SMS. I found that my colleague was asking for my assistance for pricing and info since he had a last minute thing for his tender submission. I returned his call and was relieved that he manage to sort everything without my help. I was glad to hear that because by then, it’s too late to wait for me.
Then that evening, I saw my boss and I asked him whether the last night missed call had anything urgent or not. He started to complain that I slept like a corpse and does not even wake up to answer the call. I told him that I was totally blackout. He added that I shouldn’t be like that and being in the sales line, I should be ready to answer the call anytime. I replied that I was really tired and hence fast asleep. It was a rest I needed.
My boss then further added that I should next time place the phone next to my parents so they will wake up in the middle of night when the phone rings. Therefore, they are able to wake me up in case of any urgency. I laughed and replied that my father had passed away so placing the phone next to him also he won’t wake up. My mother is working as confinement lady hence she is not around all the time. Further adding to my remarks, I told him the truth that no one else staying at that home besides me.
I walked away after that.
