Watching Crossing Hennessy
In the few previous films that I caught either online or through DVD, it doesn’t kick me to put up a post about any of it. Nonetheless, I was rather keen to finish what I have left from the flight to Kota Kinabalu on Monday.
Youtube has been greatly contribute to the video streaming which I manage to catch the remaining scenes. I wanted to watch this film when it was screening on the cinema. Why I never make a trip there was beyond my comprehension.
月滿軒尼詩 starring Jacky Cheung and Tang Wei as both were being setup for blind date.
What I like about the film is the script. It wasn’t that romantic nor out-of-the-world kind the story. Rather it is pretty bland. Not even drama I would say. The whole film was mundane to say the least. It’s like day to day life. Even average than average Joe’s and Jane’s? Character development was rather detail for Jacky Cheung as we seen him transform from a goofy 40-years-old to a grown up as he told his father, in which appear in his dream.
Although I could say that there are few metaphors that Ivy Ho throw out in the film. It takes time to catch between the lines. For example the Gill Singh who appear here and there. Looking at how both Jacky and Tang Wei fall in love with a simple thing in common. Plus given with the strong supporting characters by Paw Hee-Ching, Maggie Cheung, Mimi Chu, Andy On and Danny Lee putting up a good chemistry.
From love degrading to duty and responsibility, one would begins to opt for options presenting a better alternatives. That’s what happened from falling in love to fall out of love. It is a good story, good script with good cast.
My ratings?? 8.8/10
