Yan Can Cook
When I grew up, I remember I spent most of my weekday afternoons watching ‘Yan Can Cook’. Though I can’t remember why I would stick to the programme when there are some other shows to watch.
One of the famous ingredient he used was the XO sauce. That time I really don’t know where to get such sauce.
Yan Can Cook was a Chinese cooking show starring Martin Yan that featured recipes for stirfrys and other traditional Chinese dishes. Its catch phrase was “If Yan can cook, so can you!”, often followed by the gag “If Yan can’t, then neither can you.”
Martin’s style of presentation is infused with a little bit of humor, with the series shown widely on public television in the United States and on Food Network in Canada. He has also written several cookbooks, most of which are companions to his various series.

I think he inspired me for the stirfrys cookings. Later in my life, I helped my dad in the kitchen. Hence, I was wondering what makes the food critic a food critic? Is it for their super sensory taste or their awesome photography skill? Nonetheless, I agree that before you start criticizing a person cooking one do have to know the basis of cooking.
None of them so far can tell me why the reason for the chef to prepare the food this way or the objective of the food to achieve. What is the taste they try to stimulate. There are too much and yet, I don’t think I am qualify to comment much too.
Hence, if ‘Yan can cook, so can you!’
